EFSnet platform scheduled for 2009 Shutdown

First Data is planning to withdraw support for the EFSNet platform on March 31, 2009.  Our goal is to minimize the impact to your business and provide you superior solutions.  There are several migration options available depending on how you have coded to the EFSnet platform.  In many cases, you may have more than one integration alternative; we have included information on each option to help you decide which may be best suited for your needs.  The information on this site is intended to help you to determine your migration options, availability and key characteristics of each, and where to go for more information.

Pass-through mode to First Data’s Buypass/Atlanta platform

Pass-through emulation utilizing a Secure Transport (previously known as Datawire)  based EFSnet Pass-through emulator.  Emulation URL’s available September 2008.

Native mode to Buypass/Atlanta platform, but partner application maintains transaction data

Secure Transport IPN using Common XML option; provides a single transaction structure and entry point to multiple First Data platforms.

Native mode to Buypass/Atlanta platform, and EFSnet maintains transaction data

The updated migration solution for EFSnet native mode is to emulate EFSnet native mode functions/messages using a Secure Transport based EFSnet native mode emulator.   An easy to use virtual terminal will be available for voids, reversals and credits only.

 

Several EFSnet Native Web methods will be obsolete and are identified here.

 

To migrate to this solution, all that is required of you, the third-party application provider, is to update the transaction URL within your client’s application from https://efsnet.concordebiz.com/efsnet.dll to a new URL that will be provided in the first quarter of 2009.

 

Since your application will access a replacement transaction URL, site specific network firewall rules may need to be updated to satisfy this change. 

 

The EFSnet native Web services and message content will remain unchanged and emulated on the Secure Transport/Buypass platforms.
